Dr. Jacob Hernandez, a native of Southern California, growing up in the diverse and vibrant city of Los Angeles, quickly discovered his passion for rock climbing and the outdoors in the early 2000s. Following his passion for the outdoors, Dr. Hernandez made a pivotal move to Central Oregon, where he spent a decade establishing himself in the fields of engineering and design. What inspired his pursuit to be a healer was the birth of his daughter who was born with a complex musculoskeletal disorder. Faced with the special needs of his daughter, Dr. Hernandez made the courageous decision to leave his established decade-long career and enrolled at Eastern Oregon University with a study focus on physiology, kinesiology, and exercise science.
Driven by an unyielding commitment to helping others, he then gained acceptance into the Doctor of Chiropractic program at the University of Western States in Portland, OR, an institution known for its rigorous primary care and diagnostic training. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. He is a Certified Personal Injury Specialist and experienced in various instrument techniques such as Activator, ArthroStim, drop table adjusting, and speeder board extremity adjusting. Currently he is enrolled in a Master of Science for Physical Rehabilitation program, where he continues to expand his expertise in rehabilitation and physical medicine.
“My favorite part of being an chiropractor, particularly given my background with my special needs daughter, is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients as they reach their goals of care. Being able to provide personalized care, support, and guidance that positively impacts the patient’s quality of life is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling to me as a healthcare provider.”
